Netflix

Netflix, established in 1998, is the largest online DVD rental service, providing a monthly flat-fee service for the rental of DVD movies. Headquartered in Los Gatos, California, it has amassed a collection of 80,000 titles and over 6.8 million subscribers. A subscriber creates an ordered list, called a rental queue, of DVDs to rent. The DVDs are delivered individually via the United States Postal Service from an array of regional warehouses. Currently, there are 44 warehouses located throughout the United States. A subscriber can keep a rented DVD as long as desired but has a limit on the number of DVDs (determined by subscription level) that can be checked out at any one time. To rent a new DVD, the subscriber mails the previous one back to Netflix in a prepaid mailing envelope. Upon receipt of the disc, Netflix ships the next disc in the subscriber's rental queue.

The best thing about Netflix for me is that I don't have to worry about late fees. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to watch a movie. I want to see it but I just can't quite find the right time. I think I've had a Netflix movie for 6+ months before just waiting until I was ready to watch it. I love the convenience of just checking my queue online, switching up the movies I want to see and having the movies delivered right to my door. You can rate the movies and share your recommendations with friends which is fun. My husband and I have really enjoyed Netflix and recommend it.
