Dizzy Feet Foundation

Tonight on So You Think You Can Dance, Nigel Lythgoe announced the formation of a new foundation focusing on scholarships in dance. The Dizzy Feet Foundation was founded in 2009 by Nigel Lythgoe, director Adam Shankman, “Dancing with the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba and actress Katie Holmes to support, improve, and increase access to dance education in the United States. Guided by a board consisting of some of the most illustrious names in the American dance community, the foundation’s mission is threefold: (1) to provide scholarships and grants to talented dancers, choreographers and teachers working at or through accredited dance studios; (2) to establish national standards for dance education and an accreditation program for dance; and (3) to develop, provide and support dance education programs for disadvantaged children by working through and with community organizations.

To read more about the Dizzy Feet Foundation and how to support the Foundation and dance, please go to the website: http://www.dizzyfeetfoundation.org/ or to http://www.fox.com/

Tune in on July 23rd to the 100th episode of So You Think You Can Dance for a special appearance by Katie Holmes who will be dancing a Broadway routine by Tyce Diorio.

So You Think You Can Dance

Fresh off its sold-out, cross-country performance tour, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, last summer’s No.1 hit, begins another search for America’s favorite dancer. Entering its third season this summer on FOX, the hot series from the producers of AMERICAN IDOL and “American Bandstand” is hosted by Cat Deeley, one of the UK’s top television personalities and a correspondent for “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Good Morning America.” Once again SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE promises to keep America moving to a different beat, as dancers skilled in everything from the “street” styles of hip-hop, krumping and popping to “the best of ballroom” – salsa, quickstep, jive and more – compete to be named America’s Favorite Dancer.

The series became a phenomenon in its second season, in which Benji Schwimmer was voted America’s Favorite Dancer and received $100,000, a new car and a contract to appear in Celine Dion's “A New Day” show at The Colosseum, Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.

I LOVE this show!! I wish I knew how to dance. I will never be able to dance like the incredibly talented dancers on this show but the show does inspire me to want to take dance lessons. If you have any interest in dance or dancing, you should tune in to this show. The routines choreographed by Dan Karaty, Mia Michaels, Shane Sparks and Tyce Diorio are awesome! The routines choreographed by Wade Robson are INCREDIBLE!!!! Robson's routines are distinctive, mesmerizing, interesting, complicated and absolutely brilliant!
The show is on FOX and airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
