Dizzy Feet Foundation
Tonight on So You Think You Can Dance, Nigel Lythgoe announced the formation of a new foundation focusing on scholarships in dance. The Dizzy Feet Foundation was founded in 2009 by Nigel Lythgoe, director Adam Shankman, “Dancing with the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba and actress Katie Holmes to support, improve, and increase access to dance education in the United States. Guided by a board consisting of some of the most illustrious names in the American dance community, the foundation’s mission is threefold: (1) to provide scholarships and grants to talented dancers, choreographers and teachers working at or through accredited dance studios; (2) to establish national standards for dance education and an accreditation program for dance; and (3) to develop, provide and support dance education programs for disadvantaged children by working through and with community organizations. To read more about the Dizzy Feet Foundation and how to support the Foundation and dance, please go to the website: http://www.dizzyfeetfoundation.org/ or to http://www.fox.com/
Tune in on July 23rd to the 100th episode of So You Think You Can Dance for a special appearance by Katie Holmes who will be dancing a Broadway routine by Tyce Diorio.

The Veronicas - Take Me On The Floor
Tonight The Veronicas were on So You Think You Can Dance singing their single: Take Me on the Floor, an electropop-dance song from their second album Hook Me Up. I thought it was a pretty cool song so I've uploaded the video. For more info on The Veronicas, visit their official site: http://http//www.theveronicas.com/.

The One Minute Writer
From The One Minute Writer blog:
Who's got the time to journal daily? You do.
How it works
1. Read the daily writing prompt.
2. Push "Play" on the timer on the right side of the screen.
3. Spend 60 seconds or less writing a response to the daily prompt.
Today's Writing Prompt: If you could live for a year at a different time in history, what time would you choose?
My response: As a child, I always wanted to live like Laura Ingalls Wilder. I wore a bonnet and loved reading by candlelight. I know that there were extreme hardships of being a pioneer family but I feel like today we (I) spend so much time wrapped up in events, issues, arguments, jobs and other crap that are meaningless in the grand scheme of things perhaps getting back to the bare basics would help put everything into proper perspective.
